Jon Henschen

President

With more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Jon Henschen is widely sought after by both reps and broker dealers for his expertise and advice on independent broker dealer topics. He is frequently quoted, and his feature articles appear in the major industry publications, including Investment Advisor and ThinkAdvisor, Rep Magazine and WealthManagement.com, Investment News, Wall Street Journal, On Wall Street, Broker Dealer Journal, Producers Web, Broker World, Research Magazine, Bloomberg News, Reuters, Boomer, and the New York Post.

With his in-depth knowledge of the independent channel and broker dealer environment, Jon also consults with stock analysts, hedge funds and endowments, providing valuable insight into IBD issues and trends.

Jon has held a Series 7 license and worked as a registered representative in both the independent and wirehouse channels. In the ’90s he spent several years wholesaling mutual funds and variable annuities, and started his recruiting career in 1998.

In 2001, Jon founded Henschen & Associates, with the goal of focusing on the independent broker dealer channel and working with a broad array of firms that met different needs. Today, Henschen & Associates contracts with more than 90 Independent Broker Dealers, matching representatives with the broker dealer that best meets their profile and needs.

Laura Rafferty-Jacobo

Marketing Manager

Laura Rafferty-Jacobo brings 20 years of marketing experience to Henschen & Associates, with a portfolio that includes Fortune 500 companies from the financial services and technology sectors. As a marketing communications manager for Hewlett- Packard Co. (HP), Laura held a variety of positions where she developed communications strategies for emerging Pacific Rim and Latin American markets; managed HP’s Corporate Marketing Communications team of editors in developing and producing customer and sales force publications; as well as managing a team responsible for promoting and developing online marketing tools for HP’s North America sale force. In the financial services arena, Laura has helped companies establish and refresh their brand, develop communications strategies and messages, web content and collateral marketing materials. Laura takes pride in understanding clients and their businesses. She believes in excellence, and brings strategic direction, clarity, and organization to all her projects.

Debbie Schnieder

Marketing Assistant

Deb is my local marketing assistant helping out with numerous marketing and administrative projects. She is originally from Berkshire England, where she worked in Marketing at Strategics Marketing Company, and in Advertising Sales for 2-Ten Radio Station in Reading, UK. Deb is the least insurable in our group, being an avid scuba and sky diver.

Jackie Henschen

Administration Assistant

Jackie has a BA in English from Loyola Marymount and received her teaching credential through Augsburg University. Jackie taught fourth and fifth graders for 10 years and on her eleventh year she taught junior high students, which is why she now works for us helping out with our administrative needs.
